Since I found out that people are actually reading this (much to my surprise), I feel Iowe you guys an update on what’s going on.
I’ve scrapped the idea for IntelliTrack. Not that it’s a bad idea, but I’d like to make something semi-useful to me, and let’s face it, IntelliTrack is not it. Instead, I’ve decided to make a simple issue tracker for Mac, as there doesn’t seem to be anything that a single developer can use to keep track of a pet project. I’ve toyed around with it already, spent the past few weeks trying to figure out how to create a sorted NSOutlineView (this was complicated by the fact that I was also figuring out Core Data), and now I think I’m ready to actually work on a prototype.
I’ll post updates as they happen. Thanks for reading!
Just ran across your site during one of my many frantic Google searches for help learning this really-cool-yet-infuriating language. I come from a Windows/C# background, and my company has just been bitten by the we-should-develop-our-own-iPad-apps bug, so…here I am.
Looks like you haven’t updated the site in a while…just curious if you were still at it. I notice that there seems to be a lot of “My journey to learn Cocoa” blogs out there…and most seem abandoned. Does not inspire confidence…LOL
Heh… Yes, I am in fact still working on it; I am currently writing a Mac application for work and an iPhone/iPad application on the side. I’m good with *learning*, not so good with keeping track of the progress of this knowledge. Plus, the truth is that once you get your head around the basics, the Apple documentation is actually very helpful. I like to think that that’s why there are so many dead blogs.
